Cfi Lax
I was born and raised outside Baltimore MD in a semi-rural setting. Attended a bit of college there, but eventually enlisted in the AF to avoid the draft. I was very rebellious even to the AF’s lax military standards, and got in a bit of trouble stemming from recreational drug use and going AWOL. Eventually did get an “Honorable” discharge, then, after a brief return to Maryland, moved to Chatsworth, CA. Went back to jr. college in Santa Barbara, Eureka, and then to Humboldt State U in Arcata CA. Was an English major, but took many film classes. Moved back to LA (Redondo Bch.) and worked various jobs, and won a competition to become the movie reviewer of a Hermosa Bch. free weekly. Had to keep doing other work, mostly retail management, for money, as weekly free papers don’t pay much. Moved back to Baltimore in 1981, where I had previously written music and movie reviews for another weekly paper and a regional magazine. and was on the Baltimore Film Fest Steering Comittee.
