Thinktank Retrospective 5
LARRY WHEELER’S interest in photography began at an early age when he was hired as night photographer for a small town Oklahoma newspaper. Larry was fortunate enough to be tutored by the paper’s chief photographer who was not only an excellent photographer, but also an outstanding and enthusiastic teacher.
In the past, Larry has used 4×5, medium format and 35mm film cameras and now much prefers using his full frame and DX format digital cameras. Over the years he has had numerous photographs published and often donates photographs for auctions in support of various charities. Larry teaches basic and advanced photography, Adobe Lightroom, color management and printing. He is on the board of directors for Images for Conservation and enjoys setting up Houston area workshops and seminars featuring top professional nature and wildlife photographers. Larry’s passion for creating strong, meaningful and exciting images has continued to grow over the years, with his primary focus being nature and wildlife photography. Fortunately, over the past 10 years, he has been able to spend much more time pursuing his passion and sharing what he has learned with others.
